How Long Does a Prop Firm Payout Take? The Real Timeline in 2026
How long does a prop firm payout take? Anywhere from 15 minutes to three weeks, and the advertised number is usually the shortest part of the wait. A prop firm payout runs on three separate clocks: the first payout waiting period before you are allowed to ask, the payout processing time once you have asked, and the prop firm withdrawal time your payment rail adds on top. This guide walks through each one with real figures from the firms in our database, so you can work out when money will actually reach your account.
Prop Firm Payout Times at a Glance
Three Clocks, Not One
When a firm advertises "payouts in 8 hours" it is describing one narrow window: the time between approving your request and sending the money. That window is real, but it is the last of three, and it is the one firms compete on because it is cheap to shorten. The other two decide most of your wait.
- Clock 1 - the waiting period: the cycle, qualifying days, minimum amount and consistency test you must clear before the payout button unlocks. This ranges from zero days to two weeks or more.
- Clock 2 - payout processing time: the firm's internal review and approval, from about 15 minutes to 11 business days.
- Clock 3 - withdrawal time: how long your chosen method takes to land, from seconds on a crypto wallet to five business days on a bank wire.
Add the three together and you get the number that matters. A firm processing in 15 minutes behind a 14-day cycle pays you slower than a firm processing in 24 hours that lets you request from your first profitable day.
Real Payout Timelines at Seven Firms
| Firm | Before you can request | Processing time |
|---|---|---|
| Lucid Trading | Per-cycle profit target, $500 minimum | ~15 minutes |
| Take Profit Trader (PRO) | None - withdraw from day one | ~1 business day |
| FundedSeat | None - daily requests from day one | ~5 hours |
| FTMO | 14-day payout cycle | ~8 hours after verification |
| Topstep | 5 winning days of $150+, $125 minimum | Same day to 3 days |
| The5ers | 14-day payout cycle | ~72 hours |
| Apex Trader Funding | 5 qualifying days, 50% consistency, $500 minimum, safety-net balance | 5-11 business days |
Clock 1: The First Payout Waiting Period
The first payout waiting period is the longest and least advertised part of the timeline. It is set by the firm's funded-account rules, not its payments team, so you will find it in the rulebook rather than on the homepage. Five gates show up again and again.
Payout cycle
A fixed rhythm for when requests open. FTMO and The5ers both run a 14-day cycle on their standard plans, so your first request cannot come sooner than two weeks after you start trading funded.
Qualifying days
A minimum number of sessions above a profit floor. Apex requires five before any request; FunderPro Futures lets you ask every five trading days.
Minimum withdrawal
The smallest amount you can request. Topstep sets $125, Lucid and Apex $500, FunderPro just $50. A $400 profit at a $500-minimum firm is a profit you cannot withdraw yet.
Consistency test
A cap on how much of the requested profit one day may represent - 50% of the total at Apex. One big session can block an otherwise valid request until smaller days catch up.
Buffer or safety-net balance
A cushion above the drawdown floor you must build before withdrawing anything, so the payout cannot put the account at immediate risk.
A handful of firms have removed most of these gates. Take Profit Trader's PRO accounts allow withdrawals from day one with no minimum profitable days and no payout window. FundedSeat opens daily requests from your first profitable day. FXIFY goes furthest on the first payout specifically: close a single trade on the funded account and you can request it on demand. If the first payout matters more to you than the tenth, these rules are worth more than any processing figure.

Compare the Prop Firms with Fastest PayoutsClock 2: Payout Processing Time
Payout processing time is the stretch between submitting a valid request and the firm releasing the funds. It covers a review of your trading for rule breaches, any manual approval, and the batch in which the firm actually sends money. Across the 53 firms in our database that publish usable terms, 24 process in 24 hours or less.
The spread is wide. Lucid Trading and Legacy Funded Futures settle in roughly 15 minutes. Fintokei auto-approves requests in seconds, though it does not accept US traders. FTMO takes about eight hours once a payout is verified. Tradeify runs 24 to 48 hours, or up to 72 outside business hours. At the slow end, Apex Trader Funding takes five to eleven business days - the longest we track, at the most popular futures firm in the sector.
Clock 3: Prop Firm Withdrawal Time by Payment Method
Once the firm releases a payout, the prop firm withdrawal time depends on the rail you chose. This is the clock most traders forget, and it can easily double the total wait.
| Method | Typical time to land | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Crypto (USDT, USDC) | 12-24 hours | Usually the fastest and cheapest where offered |
| E-wallets and payment apps | Seconds to 1 day | Fintokei's Walletory lands in seconds up to $10,000; Topstep's Aeropay is near-instant |
| Wise and similar | 1-3 business days | Moderate fees, wide country coverage |
| Bank wire | 2-5 business days | Slowest, and intermediary banks may take a fee |
Weekends and holidays pause bank rails completely, so a Friday afternoon request at a firm with a 48-hour processing time can easily arrive the following Wednesday.
Why Your First Payout Takes the Longest
Even at firms with short cycles, the first payout is almost always the slowest. The reason is verification. A first withdrawal triggers KYC: an identity document, proof of address, sometimes a selfie check, and anti-fraud screening of your trading history. Later payouts skip most of this, which is why a firm quoting 15 minutes can take several days the first time.
Some firms also sign a funded trader agreement before the first payout, and a few route it through a contracts step that has its own queue. None of this is a warning sign on its own. A firm that takes four days on your first payout and hours on every one after is behaving normally. A firm that is slow on every payout, or keeps finding new reasons to delay, is the one to worry about.
How to Get Paid Faster
Prop Firm Payout Time FAQ
How long does a prop firm payout take on average?
Once you have qualified, most firms process in 8 to 48 hours, and your payment method adds anywhere from a few seconds to five business days. From the day you are funded to money in your account, a first payout typically takes one to three weeks.
How long is the first payout waiting period?
It depends entirely on the firm's rules. Firms with a 14-day cycle, such as FTMO and The5ers, make you wait at least two weeks. Apex requires five qualifying days plus a consistency test. Take Profit Trader PRO and FundedSeat allow requests from your first profitable day, and FXIFY opens the first payout after one closed trade.
Which prop firm has the fastest payout processing time?
Among firms open to US traders, Lucid Trading and Legacy Funded Futures, at roughly 15 minutes each. Fintokei auto-approves in seconds but does not accept US traders.
Why is my prop firm payout taking so long?
Usually one of three things: first-payout verification is still in progress, your request is under manual review for rule compliance, or your bank rail is slow or paused for the weekend. If none of those apply and the firm's stated window has passed, contact support in writing and keep a record.
