Copy Trading Prop Firm Rules: Which Firms Allow It in 2026

October 7, 2026•PropFirmsRadar Team•7 min read

Copy trading prop firm rules split along one line: whose trades are being copied. Copying your own trades from one account to another is allowed at a growing number of firms, and some go further and let you copy out to accounts at other firms. Copying someone else - a signal group, an account manager, a friend's account - is banned almost everywhere, and firms actively look for it. This guide sets out the rules firm by firm from our database, and the technicalities that close accounts even when copying is allowed.

Short answer: yes, you can copy trade at many prop firms, as long as every account is yours. FXIFY, BrightFunded, LifeUp Trading, Dominion Funding and Funded Futures Family allow it in some form. Fintokei and Trading Cult ban copy trading outright, and FXIFY bans it on Instant Funding accounts.

Three Kinds of Copy Trading, Three Different Answers

  • Between your own accounts at the same firm. The most widely allowed form. BrightFunded, LifeUp Trading and AquaFunded (on CFDs) permit personal copiers, and Shark Futures' Volumetrica platform ships with a trade copier built for running multiple accounts.
  • From your account to your accounts at other firms. Less common. FXIFY allows copying out to your other accounts, and Dominion Funding permits copying between your own accounts across brokers and prop firms. Fintokei bans it explicitly, down to mirroring your own trades at another firm.
  • Someone else's trades into your account. Signal groups, paid account managers, a relative's account. Dominion calls copying another person's account a terminable offence, AquaFunded bans copying between different traders, and BrightFunded bans copying from relatives, friends and community signal groups.

Two firms on that list show why the label alone isn't enough. FXIFY is among the most permissive firms on copying - but not on its Instant Funding accounts, which also lose EAs, news trading and weekend holds. Taurus Arena goes the other way: traders may collaborate and join trading groups during the challenge, but once funded the account owner must trade alone, and copy trading is prohibited. Read the rule for the product you bought, not the firm's general FAQ.

Trade Copier Prop Firm Setups

A few futures firms build copying into the platform rather than leaving you to a third-party tool. Phoenix Trader Funding includes Thor, a server-side trade copier, with every account. Shark Futures' Volumetrica platform includes a trade copier for running multiple accounts. Funded Futures Family permits third-party copy tools but still bans fully automated bot trading, so the copier can mirror your manual trades but cannot generate them. Where a firm supplies the copier, you are clearly inside its rules; with an external tool, confirm in writing first.

The Rules That Catch Copy Traders Out

Allowed to copy, still closed

Opposite directions across accounts. A copier set to reverse trades, or two accounts that end up long and short, is hedging. Apex, MyFundedFutures, BrightFunded and Traders Launch all ban hedging across accounts.
One size for every account. Each account keeps its own drawdown. A position sized for a $150K account can breach a $50K one on the same move - size to the smallest account.
Copying into a product with different rules. An evaluation's freedoms don't carry to an instant account at FXIFY, where copying is banned.
Consistency applies per account. Copied trades land identical profit days on every account, so a big day can fail the consistency rule on all of them at once.
Shared IP addresses. A March-April 2026 wave of complaints about The Trading Pit described accounts closed together on shared-IP grounds. Copy setups that route every account through one connection can draw that scrutiny.

How many accounts can you copy into?

Copying only helps if the firm lets you hold the accounts. Funded limits run from 5 at most futures firms to 20 at Apex, and some firms cap total allocation or withdrawals instead.

Copy Trading Prop Firm Rules: FAQ

Can you copy trade on prop firm accounts?

At many firms, yes, as long as every account belongs to you. FXIFY, BrightFunded, LifeUp Trading, Dominion Funding and Funded Futures Family allow it in some form. Fintokei and Trading Cult ban it.

Which prop firms allow copy trading between different firms?

FXIFY permits copying out to your other accounts, and Dominion Funding allows copying between your own accounts across brokers and prop firms. Fintokei explicitly bans mirroring your own accounts at another firm.

Can I copy a signal provider into a funded account?

Almost never. Every firm in our database that separates the two cases bans copying another person's trades. BrightFunded names community signal groups specifically and runs pattern detection to find them.

Is copy trading the same as hedging?

No. Copy trading places the same trade in the same direction on several accounts. Hedging holds opposite positions across accounts, which Apex, MyFundedFutures, BrightFunded and Traders Launch all ban - even where copying itself is allowed.
